GRTV News - Xbox heeft 'meer dan een dozijn' games in ontwikkeling met studio's van derden

Waaronder enkele waarvan we al op de hoogte zijn.

Audio transcriptions

"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTTV news. Today we're talking about Xbox because, well there's a lot of different information about Xbox out there right now due to the FTC case that Xbox was locked into in regard to its acquisition, its massive acquisition of Activision Blizzard King, but it's not actually related to that in this case because a new sort of video has gone out where a bunch of different Xbox executives talk about the future of the console and the gaming brand and as part of that, it was mentioned that there's over a dozen games in development with third-party studios, a couple of which we're familiar with but that leaves the door open for lots of different possibilities. So with that being the case, let's dive on in. Xbox has over a dozen games in development with third-party studios. Every single one of these projects is totally unique and we approach them in a very bespoke way. We already knew that Xbox Game Studios has several exclusive games in development with third-party studios making them, including something from Konjiba Productions, Death Stranding, and People Can Fly, Bulletstorm and Outriders, as well as announced titles like Contraband, Towerborne and Arah, History Untold. But it turns out there are more projects and it seems that most of them are titles we've never even heard of. Xbox Game Studios Director of Live Game Operations, Kristen Cox, had the following to say about all this in a new video shared by Microsoft and this is what Cox said. So there are quite a lot of projects that we're working on right now and we have over a dozen games that we are currently working on. Every single one of those projects is totally unique and we approach them in a very bespoke way. If we look we might see at least some sign of life from a project or two on Thursday, September 21st, as Microsoft has a showcase during Tokyo Game Show, something we've previously reported about. You can check out the video below for the actual quote. Fast forward to roughly 5 minutes and 30 seconds when the good stuff begins, so any studio in particular you hope are making a game with Microsoft. And yeah, here's the video here. I'm not going to play it but if you want to check it out. So it feels like a bit of a sort of like an interview sort of thing, a live interview with some of the Xbox executives. But yeah, the key thing to take from it though is that it's not just the third party titles that we know Xbox and Microsoft are working on with, you know, third party developers. Like the thing from Kojima Productions, like Our History Untold, like Contraband, like Towerborne and like whatever they're doing with People Can Fly. But there's other things in the works as well. So no doubt we'll hear more about them in the future. As I said, this is third party, right? So this isn't part of the Xbox Game Studios stuff. But no doubt if it's being published by Microsoft and if it's being worked, if it's a project that's being worked on for Microsoft, no doubt it will also get its sort of day in, day and date launch on Game Pass whenever it does, whenever these titles ultimately do look to launch themselves. So yeah, as we know more about them, we'll be sure to keep you posted and updated. As Jonas puts, there's a chance that we'll see more about them in this upcoming Tokyo Game Show showcase."

"But if the past is anything to go by, I probably wouldn't expect anything major from that show.
They generally tend to focus on smaller things and tailor it specifically to the Japanese and the Asian region. So, but yeah, if we know any more, we'll be sure to keep you posted and updated. But otherwise, this is all the time we have on today's episode of GRTV News, but we'll be back now tomorrow with the next one. So be sure to join us for that when it does land. Until then, hope you'll enjoy watching and we'll see you all in the next one. Take care, everyone."
